As a Sr. User Experience Researcher, you will lead and execute user research initiatives across a broad range of experiences and platforms. Your work will help teams better understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors to drive informed product and design decisions. This role plays a key part in shaping user-centered experiences and improving how customers interact with Thomson Reuters products and services. Our customers range from entrepreneurs and small businesses to large enterprises and government organizations. They rely on intuitive, effective products that support complex workflows and business-critical tasks. About the Role As a Sr. User Experience Researcher, you will: - Determine and recommend the most effective user-centered research approaches (qualitative and quantitative) to address business goals and product challenges. - Lead foundational and generative research initiatives to better understand user needs, workflows, and problem spaces. - Conduct discovery research to inform UX and product design decisions. - Develop user journeys, personas, and workflow analyses. - Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable insights that influence product strategy and design direction. - Establish, monitor, and report on UX metrics and product experience scorecards. - Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, developers, content writers, and other stakeholders within an Agile development environment. - Partner with cross-functional teams to advocate for user-centered design and evidence-based decision-making. - Drive research projects independently from planning through execution and delivery. - Stay current with evolving UX research methods, tools, and best practices. - Mentor and support other UX Researchers as needed. About You You are a strong fit for this role if you have: - Master’s degree or higher in Cognitive Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Interactive Design, or a related field - OR equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of UX research experience, or 8+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree. - Experience conducting UX research within B2B SaaS environments. - Strong experience with foundational/generative research methods, qualitative research, and workflow/task analysis. - Experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research throughout Agile product development cycles. - Experience leveraging analytics and data insights to inform UX research direction is considered an asset. - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to independently plan, prioritize, execute, analyze, and communicate research findings across a variety of business contexts. - A strong advocate for user-centered, evidence-based product development while balancing business objectives. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams. The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $49.40 - 59.40/hr CAD. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
