The Opportunity: We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Finance Manager to oversee accounting, financial operations, and cost control from our Toronto headquarters. This role blends strategic financial management with hands-on control of daily accounting, reporting, and vendor oversight. As the organization’s financial gatekeeper, you will ensure every expenditure is justified, every vendor delivers value, and senior leadership has an accurate, real-time view of the company’s financial position. This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Key Responsibilities: - Manage all accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. - Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and consistency. - Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to protect company assets and maintain fiscal discipline. - Oversee all budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. - Maintain real-time visibility into company cash flow and working capital, ensuring no financial surprises. - Lead vendor management and procurement processes, including contract negotiation, renewals, and performance monitoring to ensure optimal pricing and value realization. - Manage the Accounts Payable process to ensure timely but verified payments aligned with company goals and budgets. - Implement cost control measures across departments to improve profitability and eliminate wasteful or unauthorized spending. - Oversee all tax planning, filing, and compliance for local, provincial, and federal requirements. - Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial management practices with business strategy and growth objectives. - Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to executive leadership highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities. - Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and reporting accuracy. - Drive continuous improvements within finance and procurement operations, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accountability. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred. - 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including leadership or management roles. - Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, cost management, tax compliance, and vendor oversight. - Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or Sage Intacct). - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with impeccable attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information clearly to senior leadership. - A disciplined and proactive mindset—comfortable being the person who enforces financial control and accountability. - Strategic thinker with a collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to drive process improvements.
