Job descriptionThe Opportunity: We are working with our client, a growing Canadian provider of instrumentation and control solutions in adding to their field service team. This role is responsible for performing on-site calibration and verification of customer instrumentation in accordance with applicable standards and quality requirements. It is a customer-facing position that requires strong technical expertise, professionalism, and the ability to work independently across a range of industrial and regulated environments. The technician represents the organization in the field, ensuring precise calibration results, accurate documentation, and a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct on-site calibration and verification of test and measurement instruments (e.g., temperature, pressure, electrical). - Perform calibration activities in line with established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. - Identify and document instruments that fall outside of tolerance limits. - Carry out minor adjustments or repairs within defined scope and authorization. - Label instruments appropriately and manage asset identification during service visits. - Complete calibration certificates, service reports, and all required field documentation accurately. - Ensure all recorded data is complete, traceable, and compliant with applicable quality standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025 where relevant). - Clearly communicate calibration results, findings, and recommendations to both customers and internal stakeholders. - Collaborate with internal coordination teams to align on schedules, service scope, and customer requirements; submit documentation promptly following site visits. - Act as a professional and knowledgeable representative at customer locations. - Review scope of work with customers prior to service and confirm completion upon job close-out. - Escalate technical challenges, access issues, or scope changes to management as needed. - Support long-term customer relationships through consistent, high-quality service and communication. - Maintain calibration standards, tools, and field equipment in proper working condition. - Ensure all standards remain within calibration and are handled and transported appropriately. - Adhere to all company and customer safety policies while working on-site. - Follow required PPE guidelines and site-specific safety procedures. - Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at customer facilities. Qualifications & Experience: - Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent hands-on experience in instrumentation, electronics, metrology, or a related field. - Typically 2–5+ years of experience in calibration or field service (level may vary based on seniority). - Strong understanding of calibration principles and best practices. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
