About the Role We’re looking for a Farm Manager – Breeder Operations to lead day-to-day operations on our breeder farms. This role is responsible for flock performance, animal welfare, and team leadership, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality hatching eggs in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective environment. This is a hands-on leadership role with full accountability for farm performance, people, and compliance. What You’ll Be Responsible For Farm Operations - Oversee daily breeder farm operations including housing, feeding, egg collection, and flock management - Ensure optimal flock performance, egg production, and fertility rates - Coordinate flock placements and removals based on production schedules - Maintain farm equipment and facilities in safe working condition Flock Health & Biosecurity - Enforce strict biosecurity protocols - Monitor flock health and work closely with veterinarians and poultry specialists - Coordinate vaccination programs and health management plans - Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards Production & Egg Management - Track and manage egg production, fertility, and hatchability metrics - Ensure proper egg handling, storage, and transport to the hatchery - Maintain accurate production and performance records Team Leadership - Lead, coach, and develop farm employees - Train staff on poultry handling, safety, and biosecurity protocols - Schedule labour and manage daily staffing needs - Build a strong, accountable, and safety-focused team culture Compliance & Safety - Maintain accurate records (production, mortality, feed, health) - Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and audits - Promote and enforce health and safety standards across the farm What You Bring - 5+ years of progressive experience in poultry or breeder farm operations - Strong knowledge of breeder production and flock management - Proven leadership experience in a farm or agricultural environment - Experience working with veterinarians and poultry specialists - Solid understanding of biosecurity, animal welfare, and compliance standards - Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills - Ability to work independently while leading a team What We Offer - Competitive salary + performance-based bonus - Employer-provided on-site housing - Company truck for work use - Pension plan - Extended health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Paid time off - Company events and a casual work environment
