Position Summary
The Technical Projects Quotation Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and technically compliant quotations for industrial valve projects. This role bridges engineering, sales, and customers by translating technical specifications into commercially viable proposals. The specialist plays a critical role in securing project work by ensuring all quotations meet client requirements, industry standards, and company profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
Quotation & Proposal Development
- Review RFQs (Request for Quotations), project specifications, P&IDs, and technical documents.
- Prepare detailed quotations for industrial valves, actuators, and associated equipment.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards (API, ASME, ISO), and project requirements.
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with margins, competitiveness, and project risk factors.
- Compile complete proposal packages, including technical datasheets, compliance matrices, and commercial terms.
Technical Evaluation
- Interpret engineering drawings, datasheets, and valve specifications.
- Select appropriate valve types, materials, trims, and actuation solutions for applications including oil & gas, petrochemical, power, and industrial processes.
- Identify and mitigate technical or commercial risks during quotation stage.
- Liaise with engineering teams or manufacturers for complex or custom configurations.
Vendor & Supply Coordination
- Source pricing, lead times, and technical details from manufacturers and suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor bids for accuracy, compliance, and commercial viability.
- Build and maintain relationships with key OEMs and suppliers.
Sales & Customer Support
- Collaborate closely with outside sales representatives and account managers to develop winning strategies.
- Provide technical clarification and support to customers during bid and evaluation phases.
- Respond to customer queries, revisions, and clarifications in a timely manner.
- Participate in project handover meetings once orders are secured.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Experience
- 3–7+ years of experience in industrial valve sales, technical inside sales, or quotation roles.
- Experience with project-based sales in oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, or heavy industry highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial valves (ball, gate, globe, check, control valves) and actuation systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ISO).
- Ability to read and interpret:
- P&IDs
- Engineering specifications
- Technical datasheets
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document preparation tools.

Additional Information
Salary Range - $70,000 - $90,000 yearly.
