ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Maxxit Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced permanent full time Procurement Manager. Who will be responsible for leading the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management functions for a metal fabrication manufacturing business. This role ensures the company secures raw materials, fabricated inputs, subcontracted services, equipment, consumables, and indirect spend at the best total cost while maintaining quality, delivery performance, and operational continuity. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic sourcing capability, manufacturing procurement experience, commercial negotiation expertise, and deep knowledge of metals, fabrication inputs, and industrial supply chain operations COMPENSATION The annual compensation range for this position is $120,000.00 to $145,000.00 per year commiserate upon experience. VACANCY STATUS AND LOCATION This position is a new position at Maxxit System Inc. This role will require 5 days per week on site at the Toronto office located at 1000 Martin Grove Rd, Toronto, Ontario, M9W 4V8. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company growth, margins, and operational goals. - Lead sourcing and procurement across direct materials, subcontracted services, capital equipment, and indirect spend. - Establish scalable procurement processes, policies, and controls for a manufacturing environment. - Drive procurement transformation, including supplier rationalization, strategic sourcing, and process automation. - Partner with executive leadership to align procurement with financial targets and long-term planning. - Lead sourcing strategy and supplier selection for key categories (e.g., metals, components, freight/logistics). - Manage RFQs/RFPs, negotiations, bid evaluations, and contract awards. - Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels to ensure cost competitiveness and supply continuity. - Evaluate supplier performance, risk, and capacity; implement scorecards and review processes. - Drive supplier consolidation to reduce complexity and leverage spend. - Deliver cost savings and margin improvements through sourcing, negotiation, and process improvements. - Analyze total cost of ownership and market trends to support decision-making. - Partner with engineering and operations on cost optimization and design-for-manufacturability. - Monitor commodity markets, tariffs, and supply risks. - Support budgeting, forecasting, and costing with accurate procurement data. - Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to meet production and delivery commitments. - Oversee purchasing, supplier scheduling, and order management. - Collaborate with operations, planning, and project teams to align procurement with schedules. - Resolve supply, quality, and vendor performance issues. - Optimize inventory strategies to balance supply assurance and working capital. - Maintain procurement governance, policies, and compliance with financial controls and audits. - Oversee ERP procurement workflows, data accuracy, and reporting. - Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for leadership visibility. - Ensure supplier compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. - Partner with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Quality, and Executive teams. - Act as escalation point for supply chain issues impacting performance. - Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team. - Set clear expectations, accountability, and development plans. - Build a high-performance, metrics-driven procurement culture. REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field required. - 10–15+ years of progressive procurement / strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing. - 5–7+ years in a procurement leadership role within a mid-sized to large manufacturing business. - Experience in metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing, sheet metal, building products, or engineered-to-order manufacturing strongly preferred. - Experience managing direct and indirect spend in a complex manufacturing environment. - Proven success in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and procurement transformation initiatives. - Experience with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment required. - Strong knowledge of metal markets, fabrication inputs, industrial supply chains, and manufacturing procurement. - Strong commercial acumen including contracts, terms, cost models, and supplier negotiations. - Knowledge of inventory strategy, supplier performance metrics, and procurement controls. - Strong analytical and financial skills including cost modeling, spend analysis, and forecasting. - Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, Smartsheet and procurement reporting tools. - MBA, CPM, CPSM, SCMP, or related professional designation considered an asset.
