Electrical Engineer – EGSE Design (Hardware)
Brampton, ON | 12-Month Contract (Extension & Perm Potential)
Salary: $ 135,000 - $ 160,000
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a team working on advanced space and robotics programs.
This role focuses on the design and support of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) used in testing and validating complex systems. You’ll get exposure to a mix of ongoing programs and new development work, including space station support, robotics systems, and R&D initiatives.
It’s a hands-on engineering role — ideal for someone who enjoys working across design, testing, and integration.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be involved in a mix of design and validation work, including:
Design & Development
- Designing analog and mixed-signal circuits (sensor interfaces, filtering, DAQ)
- Working on board-level design — schematics, simulation, and layout support
- Supporting motor control systems (DC motors, encoders, controllers)
- Building and improving test systems and hardware setups (cabling, test racks)
Testing & Troubleshooting
- Debugging and testing hardware at the board and system level
- Supporting integration of electronics into larger systems
- Using lab equipment like scopes, analyzers, and signal generators
System Support
- Reviewing and validating components and designs
- Supporting manufacturing builds and resolving issues
- Helping ensure systems are reliable and ready for deployment
Team & Communication
- Working closely with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders
- Participating in design reviews
- Occasionally presenting technical work to internal teams or external partners
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Systems, Aerospace, or related engineering field
- Around 5–10 years of relevant experience (level will depend on experience)
- Strong hands-on experience in at least one of:
- Analog design
- Power electronics
- Motor control
- Test/EGSE systems
- Comfortable working through design → build → test → troubleshoot
- Able to work independently but also collaborate well with a team
Nice to Have (but not required)
- Experience with OrCAD or similar tools
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing / test processes
- Some scripting (Python is a plus)
- Background in aerospace, robotics, or hardware-heavy environments
- Experience working with external customers or partners
