Job description

What is the opportunity?

This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced technical lead (Hands-On) able to integrate, host solutions and perform OS administration, lead and setup environment and help setting up and maintaining the infrastructure for internal and 3rd party vendor applications. Help with execution, setup, support and operations excellence of the evolving Cash and Trade modernization as well as strategic innovation. The role entails hands-on involvement in delivery and stability of a variety of technology solutions within digital ecosystem and delivered in agile fashion.

The individual will be responsible for providing application support, deployment, environment maintenance, monitoring and organizing & maintaining technical documentation within Cash services team. This is a Senior individual contributor role expected to lead and drive activities end to end with minimal direction. Role will partner with Business, IT and Operations as part of a team to assess, analyze and resolve problems, leveraging enterprise standards to enhance and support software solutions.

What will you do?

  • Integration activities, WAS (IBM WebSphere/ Liberty) administration, develop solutions to support Operations and Development, support setting up different environments and resolve environment related issues.
  • Support end to end infrastructure and detailed design. Create and test DB recovery procedures.
  • Provide technical support for QE, support team, operations and development teams.
  • Maintain and support test and higher environments for project and maintenance activities.
  • Lead vendor application deployments, provide day to day HANDS-ON application support on deployments, application monitoring and alerting, troubleshooting and maintain test environments by installing, setup and configure internal and vendor provided builds.
  • As required create change management records and detailed deployment steps that will be used for applying changes to the lower environments and production, while adhering to change management standards.
  • Seek for opportunities and develop/integrate solutions to maximize operational efficiency, reliability and minimize costs.
  • Establish, maintain, organize, update, and enhance technical operational procedures/documentation for distributed and cloud environments and overall infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, vendor, cash operations and development teams to integrate solutions to applications and internal systems.
  • Lead the investigation and analysis of application technical and functional including root cause analysis leading to application or operational failures.
  • Prepare technical impact analysis documentation with impacted interface team and changes and support testing in QA/IST with batch monitoring.
  • Identify risks associated with problem situations and changes to technical upgrades.
  • Support and work closely with the QA and Development teams by helping promote the build to different environments. Setup, maintain new servers, certificates and database in the lower environments.
  • Execute best practices in investigation, technical escalation, diagnosis, recovery, documentation, communication, and transition to Problem Management.
  • Support and conduct vendor release impact technical assessment, sanity and availability test for application and related infrastructure.
  • Liaise and engage with the infrastructure, middleware, and database support teams. Code build and deployment using configuration management tools. Document for an existing system or new requirement technical design document (“TDD”). Code delivery - Components covering changed or new requirements. Provide quality assurance (“QA”) & user acceptance testing (“UAT”) support. Provide implementation plan, scripts, post implementation verification (“PIV”) and post-implementation support.

Must Have

  • University or College graduate in computer science or engineering with 5+ years of experience in an integration/development role
  • Strong leadership, desire to learn new technologies, critical thinking, problem solving, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A go getter and ability to lead and drive activities end to end. Excellent at disseminating information, organizing, and maintaining documentation.
  • 5+ years Linux command line and Red Hat Linux. 3-5 yrs. experience in WAS application deployments, administration, configuration. In depth experience with setup and maintenance Linux and Windows, deploy jar/ear/.net packages, system monitoring, troubleshooting network or application, etc. Working knowledge of Microsoft environment and Windows.
  • 2+ years of experience with Java Application servers such as Tomcat, WAS Administration experience, JBOSS, SQL queries, Confluence and Jira.
  • Hands on experience deploying applications in WAS(WebSphere, Liberty) and WAS runtime support experience.
  • Understanding of infrastructure, hosting solutions (on prem, cloud). Dealing and liaising with Vendor teams and partner technology groups.
  • Experience with Devops, application troubleshooting and monitoring tools, understanding of SAP setup and configuration.
  • Experience with Web Application: IBM WAS (WebSphere), AIX, Apache Tomcat,
  • Microsoft SQL DB or similar. Understanding of SQL queries and able to execute them.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities across several assignments and prioritize effectively.
  • Quick learner with Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with documentation.
  • Exposure to JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow
  • Experience with setup of servers in DMZ and firewall setup

Nice to Have

  • Experience and understand of Okta/Auth0 platform and overall Authentication flows would be a great asset.
  • Knowledge of Java, GitHub, Cloud technologies, Basic Mainframe knowledge (OnDemand Client, Zeke scheduler, ISPF)
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools, with preference for experience with Dynatrace
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodology using UrbanCodeDeploy, GitHub and Jenkins
  • Empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve, acquire new skills and drive for results.
