CAN|PLM Process: Data Migration Lead

Our client, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented PLM Process: Data Migration Lead to drive and coordinate critical data migration activities for a major Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform upgrade.

In this strategic technical leadership role, you will lead all business unit-level data migration activities required to transition from existing Teamcenter environments to the new platform release. You will collaborate closely with internal business units, the Global Data Migration Team, and an external Data Migration Partner to ensure all product, CAD, and configuration data is transferred accurately, consistently, and with strict quality assurance. You will shape the overall migration strategy, confirm attribute mapping logic, oversee ETL workflows, validate data integrity, and ensure complete business readiness for go-live.

Duration: 12-Month Contract (with high potential for extension)

Location: Quebec (Hybrid, 50% on-site)

Responsibilities
Scope, Mapping & Data Governance
Data Mapping & Architecture: Lead the creation and maintenance of detailed data mapping specifications, attribute translation lists, and transformation rules between legacy and target Teamcenter data structures.

Legacy Data Quality & Remediation: Identify, profile, and assess legacy data issues, coordinating cleansing and correction actions with engineering SMEs to resolve historical inconsistencies.

Global Governance Alignment: Manage migration quality gates, checklist completions, and milestone acceptance criteria in alignment with global PLM rollout governance frameworks.

ETL Oversight, Validation & Cross-Team Orchestration
ETL Workflow Coordination: Oversee the extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading (ETL) of Teamcenter data (items, revisions, BOMs, metadata, and engineering documents).

Data Load Validation: Participate in and coordinate test migration cycles into sandbox and target production environments; lead validation rounds, reconcile data discrepancies, and drive defect closure.

Non-Teamcenter Source Management: Assess and govern non-Teamcenter product data sources (spreadsheets, legacy tools, local databases), ensuring required content is aligned and migrated into the primary PLM platform.

Multi-Team Orchestration: Act as the primary business unit interface to Global Migration teams and external implementation partners, coordinating functional SMEs across Engineering, CAD, Service, CAE, and Manufacturing for data approvals and sign-offs.



Qualifications
Teamcenter & PLM Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter / Active Workspace data structures, item management, revisions, BOMs, classifications, and metadata rules.

Data Migration Leadership: Strong background leading or executing complex enterprise PLM data migrations (preferably multi-system, large-scale engineering migrations).

ETL & Data Analysis Depth: Hands-on experience with mapping design, ETL workflows, data profiling, and data validation frameworks.

Engineering Data Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of core engineering product data (Items, BOMs, Specifications, CAD/PD data, Service BOM variants, and manufacturing artifacts).

ERP Touchpoint Familiarity: Understanding of SAP integration contexts, part master data flows, and downstream ERP integration touchpoints.

Enterprise Context: Prior experience working within large OEM or complex engineered product environments.

Soft Skills: Exceptional cross-functional coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to report progress, risks, and mitigations effectively to executive leadership.
