Your Opportunity
Are you a mechanical designer or building systems professional who enjoys seeing your designs come to life on-site?
We are seeking a Mechanical Field Services Representative to support construction-phase services on building projects across British Columbia and Alberta. This role bridges design and construction ensuring mechanical systems are installed in alignment with design intent, codes, and project requirements.
You will work closely with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders, combining your technical design knowledge with field coordination and problem-solving.
Your Key Responsibilities
Field Review & Site Coordination
Conduct regular mechanical field reviews to verify installation aligns with drawings and specifications
Review and interpret mechanical design documents in the field, including: - HVAC systems
Plumbing and drainage systems
Fire protection systems
Building automation and controls
Identify deficiencies or non-conformances and provide clear, practical recommendations
Support site meetings and coordinate with contractors, trades, and consultants
Construction Administration & Documentation
Manage and coordinate mechanical construction administration processes, including: - RFIs
Site instructions
Change orders
Shop drawings and submittals
Progress claims
Deficiency tracking
Review mechanical shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent, codes, and constructability
Track design changes and assess impacts on cost, schedule, and coordination
Project Coordination & Delivery
Support construction-phase coordination, including constructability reviews, sequencing, and scheduling
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to resolve site issues
Participate in commissioning activities and functional testing of mechanical systems
Assist with project closeout, including deficiency resolution and turnover documentation
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong understanding of mechanical building systems and construction practices
Ability to interpret and apply mechanical design drawings and specifications in the field
Strong coordination and communication skills with contractors and project teams
Highly organized with attention to detail in documentation and reporting
Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
Education and Experience
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of experience in mechanical design, building systems, or construction administration
Experience in roles such as mechanical designer, EIT, or construction administration/field review is highly valued
Experience with consulting engineering or design firms is preferred
Familiarity with construction administration processes is an asset
Experience with a mechanical contracting firm is an asset

Pay Range:
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$86,900.00 - $126,000.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
