Our client has an immediate opening for Technical Manager, Business Intelligence to join their team in Vancouver.
In your new role as Technical Manager, Business Intelligence, you will own thepany’s data-to-decision layer, acting as the bridge between Strategic Finance, FP&A, Product, andmercial teams. This role is responsible for establishing a single source of truth in BI, delivering scalable reporting across markets, and generating actionable insights across financial performance, user behaviour, and product adoption.
This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role with direct exposure to executive decision-making, supporting planning cycles, product prioritization, andmercial strategy. Key Responsibilities
1. Own the BI Platform (BI as Source of Truth)
- Own and scale thepany’s BI environment (data models, semantic layer,ernance, reporting).
- Define and maintain core datasets (financial, transactions, users, sales).
- Ensure consistency across reporting (Finance, Product,mercial).
- Build reusable data models that support both reporting and analysis.
2. Performance ReportingPartner closely with FP&A to:
Deliver monthly reporting packs (revenue, transactions, KPIs vs budget)
Enable driver-based analysis (price × volume × mix, user cohorts, etc.)
Support forecasting cycles (0+12, 3+9, etc.) with real-time data
Build and maintain executive dashboards:
Market-level performance (e.g., UK, US, Canada, EU)
Pipeline and sales tracking vs targets
Revenue bridges and analysis
3. Product & User InsightsOwn analytics across the user lifecycle:
New, returning, churned, reactivated users
Registered vs guest behaviour
Feature adoption (e.g., payments, SMS, new products)
Partner with Product to:
Evaluate ROI of new features and roadmap initiatives
Quantify impact of experiments and launches
Support long-range planning (NPV, growth opportunities)
Build product dashboards focused on:
Engagement (MAU, transactions per user)
Monetization (revenue per user, take rate)
Funnel performance and conversion
4. Dataernance & QualityDefine and document key metrics (e.g., transactions, revenue, sales)
Ensure alignment between systems (e.g., finance, sales, product data)
Partner with Data Engineering to:
Improve data pipelines and refresh cycles
Ensure reliability and scalability of datasets
Implement data quality checks and validation processes
5. Ad Hoc Analysis & Strategic SupportLead and/or contribute to ad hoc analyses and special projects requested by the Director, Strategic Finance and senior leadership.
Support initiatives such as cost optimization, efficiency analysis, pricing, or investment evaluation as needed.
Drive improvements in processes, systems, and data quality over time.
Required Skills & Experience
• 6–10+ years in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data • Strong experience with Power BI, Looker and Tableau (data modelling, DAX, performance optimization) • Advanced SQL and experience working with large,plex datasets • Proven experience partnering with FP&A or Finance teams • Strong understanding of product and user analytics (funnels, cohorts, LTV) What Success Looks Like
