Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced EMC Engineer to support aircraft development and certification programs by ensuring compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. The role focuses on protecting aircraft systems from electromagnetic threats including EMI, HIRF, ESD, and lightning effects while supporting overall airworthiness and safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform EMC analysis, testing support, and engineering assessments for aircraft systems
  • Ensure compliance with fuel tank safety and explosion prevention requirements
  • Review and evaluate EMC qualification reports related to RF, lightning, ESD, and other environmental effects
  • Conduct aircraft-level inter-system interference analysis
  • Participate in design reviews and assess engineering changes for EMC impact
  • Work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive design improvements and issue resolution
  • Support certification, airworthiness, and risk mitigation activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Electromagnetics specialization preferred)
  • 5+ years of hands-on EMC engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or aviation
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems integration and electromagnetic interactions
  • Solid knowledge of EMI/EMC fundamentals, signal integrity, shielding, grounding, and propagation principles
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including 14 CFR 25.954 and 14 CFR 25.981
  • Working knowledge of aerospace standards such as DO-160, SAE ARP guidelines, and FAA Advisory Circulars
  • Experience with EMC simulation/analysis tools such as EMA3D is considered an asset
