Sourcing Specialist (Manufacturing) Location: Scarborough, ON

An established manufacturing organization-recognized as a leader in its industry-is seeking an experienced
Sourcing Specialist to provide temporary support to its operations team. This role is critical to ensuring materials availability, cost efficiency, timely delivery and smooth plant operations during a period of increased demand or unexpected needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is interested in a temporary role with strong potential for extension or career employment.
Key Responsibilities Procurement & Inventory Management - Source maintenance, repair, operating (MRO), and direct materials using best-in-class sourcing practices
- Create and manage purchase orders and inventory levels within an ERP system (SAP)
- Run MRP reports and place orders to maintain service levels and minimize downtime
- Identify and manage suppliers for specialized materials such as lubricants, fluids, and pallets
Supplier & Contract Management - Review and evaluate supplier quotations for cost, lead time, and service
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues
- Ensure adherence to established purchasing agreements
- Act as a point of contact for supplier and internal purchasing or invoicing inquiries
Maintenance & Operations Support - Partner closely with maintenance and operations teams to determine appropriate spare parts inventory
- Support critical spare parts reviews and assessments
- Coordinate sourcing activities across multiple manufacturing locations as required
Systems, Controls & Financial Support - Maintain accurate procurement and vendor data within SAP and a procure-to-pay platform
- Ensure purchasing activities align with internal controls and compliance requirements
- Assist with resolution of invoice discrepancies and GRNI-related issues
Qualifications Required - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- Proven sourcing or procurement experience within a manufacturing or plant environment; ideally 5+ years experience
- Hands-on SAP procurement experience
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables
Preferred - SCMP or comparable professional certification
- Experience with COUPA or similar procure-to-pay systems
Skills & Attributes - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating cross-functionally
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Flexible to be on-call in emergency situations (paid time)
