Job description

Saltworks Technologies is a leading Canadian cleantech company solving two of the world's most pressing industrial challenges: water sustainability and critical minerals supply.

We design and build advanced industrial water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies – in semiconductors, mining, automotive, and more.

Saltworks is a 2025 Fast 50 Company and EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winner.

The role: We are seeking a Documentation Controller to support document management and engineering change processes within our PLM environment.

Working closely with engineering, project, and operations teams, you will help maintain accurate documentation, support workflow execution, and ensure controlled information is managed consistently throughout the project lifecycle.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, process driven, and thrives in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities include: Maintain documentation within the PLM system, including naming conventions, metadata, revision tracking, and document relationships.

Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by ensuring required information is complete, accurate, and routed through the appropriate approval workflow.

Manage vendor documentation by ensuring files are properly classified, formatted, and stored within established systems.

Prepare controlled document packages and project submittals as required.

Ensure document revisions and releases are clearly tracked and communicated to maintain version accuracy across teams.

Collaborate with internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve missing or incomplete information.

Support consistent documentation and change management practices by updating and maintaining procedural guidance as needed.

Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • 2–5 years of experience in document control, change management, or a similar position within a technical or engineering environment.

Experience working within established PLM or document management systems, focused on day-to-day administration and workflow execution.

Familiarity with Engineering Change Order (ECO) and revision control processes.

Ability to manage multiple documentation workflows simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Comfortable working cross-functionally and coordinating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project teams, and external partners.

Why join Saltworks?

At Saltworks, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues to solve complex, real-world problems – designing and delivering innovative water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies.

Every team member contributes meaningfully, from early-stage development through field deployment.

Saltworks is investing intentionally in artificial intelligence for engineering and technical work.

Engineering offers one of the longest runways for AI-driven productivity and automation, and Saltworks aims to be at the forefront of this shift.

We provide the training, computational capacity, and practical tools needed for engineers and technical professionals to apply AI meaningfully in their work.

We offer: Competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, RRSP matching, life insurance, AD&D coverage, and an education allowance.

Culture built on safety, innovation, diversity, and continuous learning.

Collaborative, cross-functional team environment where every member contributes to project outcomes.

Regular social activities and company events.

How to apply: If you would like to join the Saltworks team, please submit your resume (cover letters are not required).

While we sincerely appreciate all applications, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

All applications are considered confidential.

Kindly, no recruiters.

Salary : $60,000 to $75,000 per year (negotiable based on your experience, qualifications, and internal equity). Location: 13800 Steveston Hwy, Richmond, BC V6W 1A8 #LI-Onsite Powered by JazzHR
