This role will support the planning and execution for activities related to the Mooring Chain Replacement Project. The person will work collaboratively with a team of highly qualified individuals to ensure a satisfactory level of preparedness is achieved prior to the commencement of offshore construction activities. This position has potential for time offshore on either of the construction vessels.

What you’ll do

• Gain a basic understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality expectations used in the oil and gas industry.

• Assist with reviewing project risks and help track actions put in place to reduce or manage those risks.

• Help coordinate and track questions and agreements between different teams and external partners.

• Support reviews of planned construction activities by helping identify potential hazards and understanding how risks are managed, particularly for mooring chain replacement work.

• Assist with planning and coordinating project activities across different work areas and engineering disciplines.

• Support the review of contractor documents related to installation activities to ensure they meet project requirements.

• Assist with management of change processes by helping track updates and communications.

• Support supply chain activities, including helping with vendor communication, logistics coordination, and basic commercial reviews.

• Support DREs with fabrication surveillance activities, reinforcing HSSE and quality requirements.

• May have opportunities to observe or support offshore activities as a client representative during vessel‑based operations, depending on project needs.

Who you are

• Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

Education

• Must be enrolled in a Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical or Naval Architectural Engineering Undergraduate Program

• Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

Working Conditions

• May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.

Safety Sensitive

• This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you may also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.

• Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver’s abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role.
