Job descriptionDuncan, BC $30/hour | 5 Overnight Shifts Per Week (40 hours / week) We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and calm night shift nanny/caregiver for our 16 month old daughter, October. October is a very happy, loving little girl with significant medical complexity and global developmental delay. Her diagnoses include a seizure disorder, congenital heart defects, oxygen dependence, feeding tube dependence, and chronic respiratory needs requiring nighttime ventilator/BiPAP support and continuous eyes on monitoring. Despite her medical needs, October is incredibly sweet and easygoing. She rarely cries and loves cuddles, smiling, Ms. Rachel, music, and attention. Schedule: 5 overnight shifts per week 40 hours 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM Due to nursing support scheduling, week nights will vary monthly, I am happy to discuss what works best for you and October! :) Full monthly schedule will always be provided in advance Please send any nights you won’t be available a month in advance. (Open availability is a huge asset for this position) Responsibilities Include: Continuous visual monitoring while October sleeps on her ventilator/BiPAP Listening and responding to oxygen monitor and ventilator alarms Watching for changes and waking parent if concerns arise Waking parents if October is crying / not able to soothe Refilling feed bags 1 to 2 times overnight Administering scheduled 3 AM medications through G tube (full training provided) Comforting or entertaining October if she wakes during the night Important: You are NOT responsible for managing medical emergencies, seizures, or medical interventions independently. Your role is primarily to supervise, monitor alarms/equipment, ensure October’s safety, and wake a parent immediately if concerns arise. Reliability is absolutely essential for this position. October requires 24 hour monitoring and dependable overnight support, so this position is best suited for someone with strong attendance and consistency who is confident committing to scheduled shifts.
