GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION This role organizes and coordinates all maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT Maintenance Planning
Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance plan for equipment, machinery, and facilities
Create and schedule work orders for preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Coordinate with maintenance technicians, contractors, and supervisors to ensure the availability of parts and other resources for maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with production, operations, and engineering teams to plan maintenance activities that minimize disruption to production schedules.
Maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System
Generate and schedule work orders from PdM (Precedence Diagram Method) reports
Assist in the maintenance and the analysis of the PdM reports
Inventory Management
Prepare physical storage locations and storage bin structure (Rack number / row number and bin number) Example Fixed bins for each parts & few temporary location for pool of big parts
Determine spare parts based on critical requirement (ABC classification)
Tracking, ordering (Ariba system), optimizing, cost analysis for Stores items- Ensure SAP inventory and physical inventory are matching
Pickup and deliver maintenance parts in emergencies.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor in daily purchasing and sourcing services and associated paperwork.

Collection ratio (% hours reported vs hours worked)
Breakdowns/day
Update/create SWI as needed
Other
Facility maintenance and subcontractor follow-up (i.e. forklifts, hoists, fire system, civil and structural)
Responsible for schedules and entries in time & attendance system and for vacation management for the Maintenance Department
Maintain daily KPI recording, including NEW
Work with and backup for Maintenance Supervisor and Project Engineering
Direct Supervisor of the Stores function
Expected Results
Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor to plan maintenance activities and inventory parts to improve maintenance performance in support of production and productivity improvement goals.

Other planned work scheduling – provide feedback for good or poor timing & acceptance from originator
Assets information and records
Stores (with engineering support) and Critical parts inventory development and management
Documents control (Legal, Quality)

Technician’s time management
CI in relation to ownership categories (waste reduction/cost reduction)
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?
Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance management, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a maintenance planner or in a similar role.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Effective communication skills
Competent project management skills (set priorities, handle multiple projects)
Solid understanding of parts & tools (machine/electrical), their uses and requirements
Solid understanding of breakdown/PM/PdM tasks for effective scheduling
High standards for best practices and quality of work
Good safety record and knowledge of Safety in a Maintenance environment (LO/TO., Hot-work permit, work at height.
Post-secondary education with technical background – electrical, PLC’s or mechanical
5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Software: MS Word, Excel, CAD, computerized maintenance, database management, SAP (an asset)
