Acuren Wind Canada Inc is currently seeking a proactive and experienced
Wind Turbine Site Safety Lead
to support our wind turbine maintenance operations. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture onsite, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, and working closely with crews to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
This is a hands‑on, field‑based role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about safety leadership in the renewable energy sector.
Position Details
Rotation/Shift: 6 weeks on and 1 week off, with the week off being optional. During the 6‑week period, the standard schedule will typically be 5 days on, 2 days off, at 12 hours per day. This would vary depending on project and client requirements.
Start Date: Approximately May 25, 2026.
Duration: 3 months; duration may vary depending on project and client requirements.
Rate: $40.00 - $50.00 (Payrates are based upon level of experience and Tech Level/Certifications).
Location & Travel: Quebec, flights and accommodations provided.
Please note pre‑employment D&A will be required for this position.
Responsibilities
Act as the onsite HSE lead, promoting and reinforcing a strong safety culture across all crews.
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
Conduct daily field inspections, safety observations, and site audits.
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre‑job hazard assessments (JHAs/FLRAs).
Support incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis.
Track and report safety metrics, trends, and KPIs.
Assist in the development and implementation of safe work procedures and hazard controls.
Provide coaching and guidance to technicians and supervisors on safe work practices.
Ensure proper use and inspection of PPE, tools, and safety equipment.
Coordinate emergency response planning and drills.
Maintain accurate HSE documentation and records.
Requirements
NCSO designation or post‑secondary diploma/degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
Previous experience in a Safety Lead, Safety Advisor or HSE Coordinator role in wind, construction, or a related industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Experience in wind turbine maintenance or renewable energy projects.
GWO Certifications BST, BTT and ART.
Experience working in field‑based or remote site environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel or work rotational schedule.
