The Data Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of TransLink’s enterprise data assets and analytical systems. This role focuses heavily on data validation, ETL testing, and database quality assurance, supporting the delivery of trusted, high-quality data for business intelligence, analytics, and operational decision-making. The Analyst creates and executes data-centric testing strategies, develops automated data validation frameworks, and partners closely with Data Architects, Solution Architects, Data Analysts, Data Warehouse Analysts, Functional Analysts, Business Intelligence Analysts, and other roles to ensure that data pipelines, integrations, and applications perform accurately and consistently across systems. Qualifications
Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or Mathematics from a recognized post-secondary institution, including recent coursework in database management, data warehousing, cloud computing, and software testing is preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in data testing, data validation, or ETL/warehouse QA within large-scale or cloud data environments including proven experience in testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based data integrations, advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft SQL Server. Experience validating Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics workflows, background in test automation and scripting using Python or equivalent languages and familiarity with data observability, data profiling, and data governance frameworks preferred. Up to one (1) year of on-the-job experience may be required to gain familiarity with TransLink’s specific systems and practices. Other Information
Recruitment Process:
An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions. Work Schedule:
37.5 hours per week. This is a full-time temporary position for 12 months. Work Designation:
Hybrid. This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C. Rate of Pay:
Salary $8,236 - $9,896 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity). The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan upon eligibility.
