Project Engineer or Project Technologist | Northern BC

Project Details:

Based at our project in Northern BC, this will be a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation opportunity.

Position Summary:

The Project Engineer or Project Technologist will provide engineering and planning support to our site management in the way of assisting with planning, scheduling, contract management and administration, cost control, QA/QC of our work, and recommending process/mining method improvements.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer or Project Technologist provides technical support for the project. The position is based at our remote project in the Northern British Columbia and is responsible for:

• Adhering to all legislated regulations, site, and company Health & Safety policies. Ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority
• Quality Control to ensure installations and construction in in compliance with mine designs and technical specifications
• Participate in short range planning including development, production, long hole drilling, and construction activities
• Daily / monthly quantity tracking and performance reporting
• Cost and Performance analysis
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed at improved safety and productivity

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or diploma in mining technology (or related field degree)
• Knowledge of general underground mining operations/processes
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, MS Project
• General familiarity with ERP Systems, AutoCAD, MS Power Point
• Registered, or eligible to register, as an Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientist of B. or as a Technologist with Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of (ASTTBC), or other similar bodies in other jurisdictions within Canada
• Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team

This position involves frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing.
