It is with this context that Waterloo EDC is seeking an exceptional leader as its next President and Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization and be a dynamic economic driver for Waterloo Region.
The President and CEO (CEO), working with the oversight of a Board of Directors, will lead Waterloo EDC and be responsible for executing the Strategic Plan, delivering financial and investment results against measurement targets set with the Board and fostering senior level relationships with all funding partners (Federal, Provincial and Municipal). This is a high‑profile role with the expectation to attract and deliver new companies, investments and jobs in the Region while retaining and expanding existing companies, investments and jobs. The CEO will provide business‑focused leadership, with a results‑based mindset and continue to engage a best‑in‑class organization that will ultimately drive growth and prosperity across the entire Region.
As the ideal candidate, you are a relationship‑focused leader, with success and great comfort engaging and building meaningful partnerships with a range of stakeholders, including all levels of government, national and international business communities, academic institutions, the public and media, to name a few. You bring to Waterloo EDC a bias for action, initiative, a focus on driving results and an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as a deep passion for community building through economic development. As a manager, you are an empowering coach and mentor who builds dynamic, responsive and resilient team cultures that value service, inclusivity, equity and diversity. At the Board table, you are an active and engaged participant, voicing concerns, sharing ideas and proactively providing options for the directors to consider.
