The Role GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Field Material Coordinator to join our value-added client's team in Edmonton, Alberta.

This is a full-time, site-based contract role beginning June 1, 2026, supporting a large EPC industrial construction project through the end of 2027, with potential for extension into post-project cleanup and surplus activities.

Operating in an Owner Representative capacity, the Field Material Coordinator provides site-level oversight of material procurement, logistics, inventory control, and construction material readiness.

This is a utility role bridging construction ordering nuances and inventory management, supporting a 50-person warehouse and site team alongside four AP personnel and warehouse contractors.

The successful candidate will jump in quickly, understand site needs, and help maintain sustainable workloads while keeping construction execution on schedule.

What You'll Do Coordinate the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of construction materials and equipment at site Manage pick tickets, inventory alignment, and receiving verification to support smooth material flow Interface with EPC contractors and suppliers as an owner-side representative, ensuring material management compliance and readiness Track material deliveries, inventory levels, and consumption to support construction schedules Inspect incoming materials for quality, quantity, and specification compliance Identify and resolve material issues including shortages, damages, and shipment discrepancies Maintain accurate site material records, reports, and inventory updates Utilize Smart Materials, Jovix RFID, and related material management systems for tracking and reporting Coordinate material handling, laydown areas, and storage activities to ensure safety and efficiency Communicate material status, risks, and constraints to construction, engineering, and procurement teams What You Bring Demonstrated experience supporting large EPC construction projects in industrial, energy, oil and gas, or infrastructure environments Experience working in an Owner Representative or owner-side oversight role Hands-on commodities knowledge spanning structural steel, piping, mechanical equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and bulk materials, down to nuts and bolts Smart Materials and Jovix RFID system proficiency Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for data management and reporting Ability to work independently on site with minimal supervision Degree or diploma in Project Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience Strong organizational and coordination skills in a site-based project environment Clear communicator able to work across multiple contractor and project interfaces Preferred Qualifications SAP (Materials Management) experience Turnaround materials coordination experience paired with strong system knowledge Familiarity with AI applications relevant to materials management or reporting Project management skills or formal project management exposure Prior contract or EPC project completion experience Edmonton-area local candidates preferred to minimize ramp-up time Additional Information This is a new role created to maintain sustainable team capacity and reduce burnout, with workloads targeted at approximately 80 percent capacity Employment structure (contract or T4) will be determined based on candidate preference Initial contract runs through the end of 2027, with strong potential for extension into project cleanup, scrap, and surplus phases Interview process is flexible, with options for Teams or onsite interviews based on candidate fit Submissions are reviewed promptly once the requisition is active, with shortlisting completed shortly after What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications Long-term contract stability with potential for extension Day shift, compressed workweek schedule designed to minimize overtime Sustainable workload management at approximately 80 percent capacity Opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements Life insurance: $100,000 employee, $10,000 spouse, $5,000 per child AD&D insurance with critical illness and cancer coverage Extended health care: drugs, hospital, hearing, orthotics, nursing Paramedical services: chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage, mental health (annual coverage) Vision care: glasses, contacts, laser surgery, and exams Dental care: 80 percent basic ($2,500), 50 percent major ($2,500), $2,500 orthodontic for children Travel insurance: up to $5,000,000 per incident (trips up to 90 days) Ongoing training and career development support Apply now at www.grizzlytrekgroup.com Free AI Resume Enhancement Tool | AI Job Assistance available Powered by JazzHR
