Business Development Full Time Canada Remote $55,000 - $75,000 CAD per year
Solvest was founded in the Yukon in 2015 and has become a leader in delivering renewable energy solutions across northern and remote regions. We specialize in designing and executing large-scale solar and battery storage projects built for challenging and complex environments. Our work is grounded in strong, long-term partnerships with communities, municipalities, and commercial clients, where we prioritize collaboration, trust, and shared outcomes. By accelerating the shift away from fossil-fuel reliance, we strive to support energy sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and a more resilient future. Our core values are Innovation, Trust, Empowerment, and Tenacity.
Our secret weapon? The Solvest PowerPod, our in-house manufactured, modular, Canadian-made Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Field-tested in the Arctic and designed to thrive where off-the-shelf solutions fail, we are now ready to scale our impact across the country.
We are not looking for a sales rep; we are looking for a market builder. This is a hunter role with a national scope. You will be the face of Solvest's expansion, focused on taking PowerPods to clients within the mining, exploration, First Nations, remote infrastructure sectors, Travel lodges, and new target markets across Canada.
This is not about selling a generic product off a shelf; it is about complex project origination. You will position the PowerPod as the heart of reliable, independent energy systems for remote, diesel dependent sites. You will navigate long, consultative project development cycles, build genuine trust with stakeholders who need to know their power won't fail when the temperature drops, and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract close and a clean handoff to the operations team, supported by Solvest's Yukon-based engineering and manufacturing teams.
Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, this is a targeted sales role focused on identifying and closing opportunities within the following remote off-grid primary markets: Mining, Travel Lodges, Highway Camps and rural communities seeking energy independence.
This is a remote position generating leads across Canada.
Note: This role is focused on battery energy storage system integration sales in remote and off-grid markets. Candidates with experience limited to software, SaaS, short-cycle product sales, or residential solar are unlikely to be a strong fit.
Employment Status: Permanent Full Time. We are currently trialing a 4-day work week (36 hours).
Wage Range: $55,000 – $75,000 base salary + competitive uncapped accelerator based commission structure.
Benefits: Employer-paid comprehensive health benefits package after 3 months (including unlimited access to virtual health care, mental health care, and virtual pharmacy via Dialogue); paid vacation; paid sick days; and more.
We measure what matters. Your success is defined by:
You are a commercially sharp, relationship-driven sales professional with a genuine understanding of the Canadian remote energy market. You know that selling requires patience, credibility, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. You are comfortable operating independently across a large geographic territory and you take full ownership of your results.
You are a proven closer. You have built your career generating new business in complex, multi-stakeholder project sales in energy infrastructure, mining, or heavy construction, and you don't just manage accounts; you build new business. You understand the economic case for energy storage in remote areas, whether it is reducing diesel dependency for a mining camp or supporting energy sovereignty for a First Nations community. You can explain technical power systems to a site engineer and talk 10-year IRR with a CFO.
You are tenacious and motivated by the mission. You don't wait for leads to land in your inbox; you identify the most energy-vulnerable sites in Canada and you go after them. You build your own momentum.
Ready to lead the national charge on energy independence? Submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience in the Canadian renewable market, specifically your success with remote or industrial energy projects, to our People Department at https://www.solvest.ca/careers.
We wish to express our appreciation to all applicants for their interest in this position. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
