Job Description
The incumbent acts as a Quality Engineer / Specialist. He/she shall play a key role in interfacing both suppliers and the customer on FAIs (First Article Inspection reports), escapes, corrective actions, investigations, and technical support as required. As part of his duties, the Quality Engineer / Specialist will handle aeronautical parts and may have to travel to subcontractors, suppliers, test laboratories or other companies from time to time.
Key responsibilities
· Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities
· Conduct supplier quality audits
· Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
· Main point of contact for technical inquiries and resolution for suppliers and customers
· Generate supplier KPIs and Actions Plans for top 10s
· Participate in process risk analysis activities (PFMEA)
Skills
· Meet the requirements of Federal Controlled Goods program (background surveys)
· Strong understanding of AS9100D standard requirements
· Ability to understand drawings, specifications, and testing protocols
· General knowledge of materials used in aeronautics is an asset
· Basic knowledge/understanding of the usual special processes is required (Heat treatment, NDT, shot peening, electroplating, anodizing, thermal spray, paint, etc.)
· Able to perform risk analysis of company's processes
· Excellent sense of communication, link between the customer and suppliers
· English and French spoken and written fluently
· Good communication skills
· Structure and organization in the workplace
· Attention to detail and an excellent sense of observation
· Experience in problem solving and continuous improvement.
Education and experience:
· DEC in aeronautical or mechanical or any combination of university studies and experience deemed equivalent
· Minimum 3 years of experience in Manufacturing / Supplier Quality
· ASQ certification (CQA, CQE, CQM...) / Lead auditor certification will be considered an asset.
