Clinical Supervisor – Day/Evening Treatment Program at Addiction Services Central Ontario (ASCO). This permanent, full‑time position (35 hours per week, 5 days) requires a minimum of 4 on‑site days per week and at least one evening and some Saturdays. The role is based in Aurora, Ontario and supports clients across York Region, South Simcoe and North York.
Job Overview
ASCO is a charitable, community‑based addiction and mental‑health services organization. The Clinical Supervisor will develop a new Day/Evening Treatment Program, oversee clinical supervision, support program evaluation, and collaborate with agency partners and Ontario Health Teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- As a senior clinician, oversee clinical services to clients—including assessment, case formulation, goal‑setting, group coordination, life‑skills teaching, counselling, crisis intervention, case management and referral.
- Impart clinical expertise across diverse settings (youth and families, case management, concurrent disorders, outreach for the precariously housed, women who are pregnant or have young children, withdrawal management, problem gambling, adult services, and quality improvement).
- Participate in supervision within pilot programs and other initiatives in Ontario Health Teams.
- Provide services throughout York Region, South Simcoe and North York, working with partners to meet agency, OHT and funder goals.
- Clinical Supervisory Responsibilities
- Ensure clinical services align with the agency’s goals and objectives.
- Provide regular supervision to clinical staff, evaluate competence, and support complex client needs.
- Supervise student placements and coordinate coverage across teams.
- Allocate approximately 1.5 hours of clinical supervision bi‑weekly to each staff member.
- Coordinate agency groups and launch a community of practice for group facilitators.
- Participate in hiring, interviewing and team supervision.
- Ensure staff adhere to professional standards and ethics.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Leadership Team to provide training in social work, psychotherapy and community addiction treatment.
- Assist the Leadership Team in developing, implementing and reviewing policies, protocols and procedures.
- Advise the Executive Director and Clinical Director on organizational matters.
- Apply an Anti‑Oppression and Anti‑Racism (AOAR) framework to all programs and services.
- Support the Clinical Director with quality‑improvement initiatives, maintaining a strong QI culture.
- Lead or participate in Clinical Town Halls, supervisory trainings and QI Committee meetings.
- Support the tracking and development of QI outcomes.
- Program Development and Evaluation
- Work with clinical leadership to continuously improve existing programs and services.
- Lead the development and implementation of new clinical programs.
- Evaluate agency programs, implementing changes as directed by the Leadership Team.
- Apply an AOAR lens to all program development and evaluation.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s level university degree in a social science or health‑related discipline and relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience providing direct services.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical supervisory experience; 3–5 years is an asset.
- Good standing membership in an appropriate regulatory college under the Regulated Health Professionals Act (e.g., College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Ontario College of Social Workers, RNP Association of Ontario).
- Willingness to submit a written attestation confirming regulatory eligibility as a Clinical Supervisor.
- Able to work at least 4 shifts per week in person, plus at least one evening per week and some Saturdays.
- Working knowledge of TREAT/data management systems (asset).
- Experience with marginalized and diverse populations.
- Proficient in program development.
- Significant knowledge and experience with clients presenting substance use and concurrent disorders.
- Knowledge and proven ability in:
- Leadership and supervision of clinicians, strong communication, motivation, team building.
- Professional community practice standards and ethics.
- Addiction assessment and various treatment modalities, including systemic intervention.
- Couple/family counselling and group work (asset).
- Team activity coordination for client service delivery and public education.
- Promotion of inclusivity in services.
- Community initiative participation.
- Understanding of Ontario Health Teams (asset).
- Excellent presentation and public speaking.
- Anti‑Oppression and Anti‑Racism (AOAR) frameworks and practice.
- Addictions and mental‑health interventions knowledge.
- Community resource knowledge.
- Rural community system familiarity.
- Interpersonal and organizational excellence, problem‑solving, decision‑making.
- Independent and collaborative teamwork.
- Availability to work outside business hours.
- Legislation knowledge (PHIPA, PIPEDA, Mental Health Act, etc.).
- Excellent English communication, verbal and written.
- Service provision in French and other languages (asset).

- Successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (agency policy).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a private insured vehicle.
