Job descriptionThe Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in delivering high‑quality financial reporting and insights to support strategic decision‑making across a growing global organization. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role is responsible for overseeing the month‑end close cycle, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal reporting requirements. The successful candidate will partner closely with cross‑functional leaders, contribute to process improvements, and support scalable financial operations in a dynamic, multi‑entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full month-end close cycle, including financial close adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L variance reviews
Monthly reporting of results, including internal financial statements and Board reporting packages
Ensure that control procedures are followed and documented
Assist with complex accounting, including revenue recognition, financial instruments, lease accounting, inventory, equity compensation, purchase price allocations, and the consolidation process
Support the annual external audit process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements
Support the maintenance of the global chart of accounts
Assist the Treasury team with analysis over bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable
Support the budgeting and forecasting process, track department and product expenditures and analyze variances to budget
Maintain dashboards and provide financial insights including sales trends, margins, and KPI tracking
Partner with functional leaders to provide finance support and insights that assist with strategic decision‑making and drive growth
Assist with integration of new acquisitions or business ventures into the global platform
Tax & Statutory Compliance
Assist with Canadian VAT filings (HST/PST/QST) and US sales tax returns prepared by third party firms
Ensure compliance with global statutory requirements, including corporate tax filings and local statutory audits
Assist with new product sales taxability reviews and transfer pricing studies
Qualifications Education & Professional Designation
Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent) or actively pursuing one
Experience
A minimum of 3–4 years overall financial reporting and/or related progressive experience is required
Advanced knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP is preferred
Exposure to multi‑divisional, multi‑currency ERP systems is considered an asset
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (including standard costing, BOMs, and routings) considered an asset
Proficiency in PowerBI considered an asset
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
Strong internal control knowledge for both systems and processes
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to diverse stakeholders
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and data integrity
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
