About the Organization Fuze HR Solutions is partnering with a well-established, privately operated Canadian organization that has recently been acquired by a global industry leader. The business is currently in a 2-year post-acquisition transition period, moving from a legacy, family-run structure into a more standardized corporate finance and reporting environment. The organization operates in the residential and commercial service sector with approximately 40 employees and ~$30M in annual revenue. It provides essential service, installation, and maintenance solutions and is known for its strong customer relationships, hands-on culture, and long-tenured team. As part of the integration process, the finance function is evolving from highly manual processes into more structured reporting systems, creating a strong opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional to help build process, improve controls, and support modernization.
Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Accounting Manager in managing core accounting operations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. This role is best suited for a strong Intermediate Accountant or early Senior Accountant who is technically solid, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with evolving systems and processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial reporting, supporting internal controls, and helping transition the organization into a more standardized corporate accounting structure.
Location & Work Environment - 📍 Port Coquitlam, BC
- 🏢 Fully onsite (no hybrid option)
- 🕒 Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities - Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Support financial reporting and internal reporting packages
- Help improve month-end close efficiency and timelines
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support internal control improvements and process standardization
- Assist with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
- Support audit preparation and documentation as required
- Partner with operational and administrative teams across multiple business units
Key Requirements - 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles (GL, reconciliations, journal entries)
- Hands-on month-end close experience
- Ability to independently prepare and explain balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Exposure to internal controls or process improvement environments
- Advanced Excel skills
Nice to Have: - CPA designation or in progress
- Experience in construction, service, trades, or field operations industries
- Exposure to systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, HFM, OneStream, or similar ERP/reporting tools
- Experience in multi-entity or operational accounting environments
