Purpose:
York University's School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) is one of North America's premier educational and research institutions for the visual, performing, and digital arts. The largest, most comprehensive program of its kind in Canada, we unite more than 3, undergraduate and graduate students and full-time and part-time faculty working at the leading edge of creative arts practice and offers in-depth academic studies (history, theory, criticism) and intensive, hands-on professional training in all the creative arts: dance, design, digital media, film, music, theatre, and visual arts/art history. The School emphasizes contemporary artistic production and process in all discipline areas and is known for its excellent facilities and leading research. AMPD is a destination for top artistic talent because we provide a dynamic space for students to push the boundaries of disciplinary rigour, create new cultural propositions, engage the integration of emerging technologies and forms of practice within the extensive scholarly resources of one of Canada's largest research universities.Working closely with the School's executive team, the Director, Communications and Digital Engagement provides leadership, direction and oversight of the development of comprehensive and highly integrated strategic communications and marketing plans that advance the vision, mission, reputational position and advancement goals of the School. The Director is principal to create a communications framework for the School related to all aspects of recruitment, admissions, and promotion that ensures the implementation of strategic planning. This includes leadership and coordination of resources related to recruitment activity pertaining to student enrolment. Utilizing novel digital platforms for communicating and marketing the School's brand, the Director will have an affinity for emerging digital technologies ( VR/AR) in an effort to connect with a broader audience.
Education:
Graduate degree in a related field required: Marketing/Communications, project management training an asset.
Experience:
-Demonstrated success in brand development, maintenance, and the creation of innovative communications strategies.
