Job description

Who we are Children are at the front and centre of what we do; they are the foundation of our purpose and the basis for our evidence-driven strategy.

Our mission is to transform the lives of children, youth and their families by developing and delivering innovative, research-based mental health and early learning programs.

At the Child Development Institute (CDI), we are passionate about helping our communities’ most vulnerable members and their caregivers.

It motivates each of us to face what can be difficult situations while continuously finding the purest joy in play, in silence, in advice, and in the unbelievable strength and resilience of our young clients.

Joining us now is a rewarding opportunity to be part of an organization that is built on a legacy of more than 100 years of helping children and families. Recognized as a leader and model for measurement-based impact, we are client-centred, family-centred, and data-informed.

We are a place where professionals grounded in mental health, care, and well-being of infants, children and youth, come together in collaboration, learning and inclusion.

As a multiservice organization delivering social, emotional, and behavioural counselling services, early childhood education, learning disabilities and mental health services, and family violence services, we address the whole person.

Every child and family that reaches out to us is unique, and we value and embrace their individuality.

We deliver the tailored support and tools they need to build life-long skills, positive mental health, and resilience.

With their trust in us, we guide children and families along a supportive journey.

It is an often difficult path and simultaneously the most rewarding experience for providers, children and families.

Who we need Stop Now And Plan (SNAP) is an evidence-based model for children that provides a framework for teaching effective emotional regulation, self-control and problem-solving skills to children aged 6-18 struggling with behaviour issues and their parents.

The primary goal of SNAP is to keep children in school and out of trouble by helping them make better choices "in the moment." Reporting to the Senior Manager, SNAP Clinical & Therapeutic Recreation Programs, we are hiring a Clinical Manager to lead the SNAP Clinical Program.

As the new Clinical Manager, SNAP Program you will oversee the clinical and operational performance of the program, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard and aligned with our mission, values, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.

You will lead, coach, and support a team of clinicians, while driving accountability for service delivery, team performance, and program outcomes, including service targets and quality standards.

You will foster an environment of excellence that promotes knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, and the ongoing evaluation of clinical practices, enabling your team to support children, families and youth in building skills, resilience, and positive change. This is an existing full-time working five days per week on-site role based at our Euclid head office.

Who you are You are a registered therapist or Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related discipline and are in good standing with a relevant professional college.

You bring extensive clinical experience working with children and youth (ages 6–18), families, and groups, including a minimum of five years of experience providing clinical supervision in a clinical setting.

You have strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, trauma-informed, attachment-based) and a solid understanding of privacy, ethical, and regulatory standards.

You are an experienced clinical leader who can guide staff through complex cases, support high-quality service delivery, and contribute to program effectiveness through sound judgment, collaboration, and accountability.

What's in it for you Profound purpose.

You will play a key role in leading a clinical program that supports children, youth, and families through evidence-based care.

You will ensure services are delivered to a high standard, grounded in strong clinical practice and aligned with CDI’s commitment to measurable outcomes and meaningful impact.

Impact.

You will take ownership of program delivery, balancing clinical excellence with operational effectiveness.

You will influence team performance, service quality, and client outcomes, while contributing to ongoing program development and continuous improvement within the SNAP model.

Growth.

You will expand your leadership across clinical, people, and program management.

As part of the Clinical Managers group, you will collaborate across programs, contribute to broader organizational priorities, and continue to build your leadership capability through hands-on experience, coaching, and development opportunities.

As our new Clinical Manager, SNAP, you will: Manage the growth and performance of the team.

You will lead, recruit, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff, collaborating with the Senior Manager, SNAP Clinical Programs, to identify needs and provide effective training and leadership that inspires professional growth and performance.

You will identify gaps and areas for improvement, fostering a culture of ongoing knowledge development in child development, family functioning, and evidence-based interventions, while supporting performance management, development planning, and team effectiveness.

Manage clinical and program delivery.

You will oversee clinical work and program operations, including scheduling, workload distribution, and caseload management, ensuring achievement of key performance indicators and service targets.

You will apply a range of supervision approaches, both individual and group, and provide observational feedback.

You will review clinical work and ensure the quality, consistency, and professionalism of assessment, treatment plans, and interventions, aligned with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Ensure compliance and operational excellence.

You will be accountable for the effective operation of clinical programs within your scope, ensuring adherence to CYFSA and YCJA legislation, Health and Safety requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory professional guidelines.

You will maintain a strong understanding of legislative and compliance requirements and ensure these are consistently reflected in program delivery and clinical practice.

Monitor and report on performance.

You will monitor and communicate the volume and effectiveness of service delivery against agency and ministry standards, using data and measurement-based approaches to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

You will participate in the Clinical Managers group to ensure operational practices, standards, and procedures are consistent, and support the management of program resources, including budgets and service plans, within scope.

Plan and drive continuous improvement.

You will work closely with CDI managers to ensure overall coordination and effective agency operations.

You will contribute to program planning, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement, ensuring services evolve in line with emerging needs and best practices.

You will ensure parents, children and youth feel empowered through participation in programs grounded in evidence based and evidence informed practices, and keep the Senior Manager informed of service delivery issues while recommending improvements.

What you bring: Clinical leadership and credentials.

You hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related discipline and are registered with a relevant professional college (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO).

You bring a minimum of five years of experience providing clinical supervision in a clinical setting, along with extensive clinical practice working with children and youth (ages 6–18), families, and groups.

You have strong knowledge of evidence-based and evidence informed therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, trauma-informed, attachment-based, family systems) and ensure clinical practices align with ethical, professional, and regulatory standards.

Program and operational experience.

You have experience overseeing clinical service delivery, including managing workloads, caseloads, and service targets.

You are comfortable balancing quality of care with operational effectiveness, using data and measurement-based approaches to monitor outcomes, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.

Clinical judgement and risk management.

You can confidently navigate complex and high-risk situations, providing guidance to staff on crisis intervention, case management, and assessment, case formulation and treatment planning.

You bring sound judgement, emotional intelligence, and a calm, professional demeanour, supporting teams through challenging client scenarios.

Communication and relationship-building.

You are an effective communicator with strong listening and interpersonal skills.

You build trust with staff, clients, and stakeholders, and can adapt your communication style to engage diverse audiences with clarity and professionalism.

Leadership and integrity.

You are a people leader who fosters accountability, collaboration, and inclusion.

You provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and ongoing coaching to support staff development and performance.

You approach your work with professionalism, empathy, and a high standard of integrity.

Other requirements All applicants are advised that offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Credential verifications and references are required.

Compensation: At Child Development Institute (CDI), we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and supportive of your experience and growth.

Salary is determined by the complexity of the position and internal equity, ensuring a fair and competitive salary within our sector.

We believe in transparency and open conversations about compensation.
