Job description
Join Domtar as an Area Engineer in Port Mellon, British Columbia, overseeing CapEx and Maintenance Projects. This full-time role requires expertise in structural engineering and project management.
The Area Engineer, Central will report to the Engineering Manager, leading CapEx projects across various production areas. Key responsibilities include preparing budget estimates, conducting inspections of anchor points, and adhering to safety regulations. With a focus on operational excellence, you will manage maintenance projects and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities: • Prepare budget cost estimates for projects • Manage schedules and procurement of maintenance projects • Ensure PMBOK guidelines for CapEx projects are met • Conduct annual inspections for fall protection • Review 3rd party civil/structural drawings
Requirements: • Professional Structural or Civil Engineer (P.Eng preferred) • Minimum 3 years’ Project Manager experience • Competent in inspection of structural steel • PMP designation considered an asset • Excellent communication skills required
