Reporting to the Executive Vice‑President & Chief Operating Officer, United Way Maritimes, the Director, Marketing & Brand Strategy, is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and executing United Way Maritimes’ overall brand vision, positioning, and marketing campaigns to drive growth and consistency across the region. The Director is responsible for setting marketing budgets, conducting and implementing key learnings from market research, managing brand equity, and leading the Marketing & Communications team to execute initiatives across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Lead brand stewardship and evolution, including post‑merger brand integration and the development of a clear, long‑term brand strategy
Set and uphold brand standards across all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with organizational values
Design and deliver multi‑channel marketing and fundraising campaigns informed by data, insights, and audience segmentation
Oversee digital strategy, including website and social media, to grow visibility, engagement, and fundraising performance
Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing Marketing & Communications team, managing budgets, agency relationships, and performance reporting
Partner closely with the CEO, EVP & COO, and senior leadership to align brand and marketing efforts with organizational strategy and priorities
Our ideal candidate is a strategic, people‑centered marketing leader with 7–10 years of experience in brand, marketing, or communications, including substantial people management experience. They bring a proven ability to translate big‑picture organizational goals into compelling brand narratives and high‑impact campaigns, ideally within a non‑profit or complex, multi‑site environment. Collaborative, calm under pressure, and data‑informed, you balance creativity with accountability and are energized by leading teams, building strong stakeholder relationships, and elevating an organization’s profile and impact. With strong digital fluency, comfort working with Microsoft 365 and CRM systems, and openness to regional travel, the ideal candidate is someone excited to shape and steward a brand with purpose.
United Way Maritimes is committed to a comprehensive compensation package including salary, group retirement savings plan contribution, health and dental benefits, generous vacation time, additional time‑off during the December holiday period, and professional development and training. The salary for this position is $83,173.
