Engineer – MRB Liaison Responsibilities
Designs and analyzes the disposition of repairs for structural non-conformances in a timely manner to restore design integrity.
Rapidly designs repairs based on equivalent strength/stiffness of surrounding structure while in a schedule-driven environment.
Adheres to company MRB and QA procedures.
Interacts with inspectors, shop mechanics, other engineering disciplines and management as required.
Maintains current knowledge of developments in aircraft structures to recommend innovations to improve quality, economy, and effectiveness of products.
Investigates, analyzes, and determines solutions for manufacturing and engineering problems that may hinder or prevent assembly or function of components, based on aeronautical design principles including function, serviceability, cost, schedule, material processes and assembly limitations.
Provides written instructions when required by MRB policies to restore non-conforming parts and assemblies to originally designed product integrity and quality.
Interprets engineering drawings, specifications, policies and philosophies.
Obtains engineering expert advice and assent on fixes and repairs affecting original engineering philosophy and requirements.
Assists manufacturing and related departments in advisory capacity to improve methods, processes, cost and schedule.
Maintains coordination with and fosters teamwork with all departments within the company including operations and engineering.
Investigates, analyzes and provides solutions for corrective action requests involving engineering.
Pursues a personal development program to maintain a competence level consistent with state-of-the-art improvements in liaison activities.
Provides the Supervisor with current information pertaining to manufacturing changes, problems or any other matters of significance to the group.
Advises the Supervisor on manufacturing problems affecting aircraft already delivered to customers and on problems affecting safety of the aircraft in general.
Informs design engineering of any feature in the design which could affect safety or make proper assembly near impossible.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday 6:30 am – 3 pm

Qualifications
Competence in basic stress analysis.
Excellent knowledge of aircraft structures and systems installation technical requirements.
Thorough knowledge of aircraft materials and hardware, company practices and standards, as well as aeronautical engineering standards and specifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with high commitment and ability to work independently in a high-pressure partner/supplier team environment.
Competence in Catia V4, V5 and/or AutoCAD to a level sufficient for day-to-day tasks.
Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Experience
Minimum 3 years’ MRB experience in Liaison Engineering, preferably on Bombardier Programs.
Design experience in aerospace considered an asset.
Education
Graduate of a recognized technical institute, college, or university, majoring in Engineering.
