Our product portfolio ranges from high-speed trains, metros, monorail, and trams to integrated systems, customised services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions. Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide

Could you be the full-time Head of Traction Power in Toronto, ON, we’re looking for?

Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your electrification and project management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking teammates.

You’ll ensure the successful delivery of electrification projects, driving safety, quality, and performance across all phases of the project lifecycle. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across engineering, construction, and customer operations, manage interfaces with stakeholders, and champion risk and opportunity management strategies, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of leading and coordinating electrification activities and stakeholders, including Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) and Power Supply (POS) subsystems, but also optimizing electrification financial performance (margin and cash).

We’ll look to you for:

Ensuring safety, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), and compliance requirements are fully implemented within the electrification scope of works

Planning, monitoring, and controlling end-to-end electrification activities, including scope, schedule, resources, cost, and risks

Leading the electrification strategy definition in line with contract requirements

Managing interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, consultants, and partners

Driving resource management and fostering collaboration across multi-site teams

Ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to project KPIs, including Design for Quality (DFQ) milestones

All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field

Professional Engineer designation as per Canadian regulations

Master's Degree in Business Administration and/or Project Management (desirable)

A minimum of 15 years of experience in railroad electrification project management, including critical brownfield projects

Experience in managing and coordinating engineering services related to rail systems

Proficiency in project management processes and railway products/systems

Leadership and team management skills, with experience coordinating multi-site teams

Strong customer relationship management and advanced negotiation skills

Resilience, problem-solving ability, and an entrepreneurial mindset

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

Work with new security standards for rail electrification

Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility

Utilise our agile and inclusive working environment

Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning opportunities

Progress towards senior leadership roles

Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow’s mobility. That’s why we value inquisitive and innovative people who are passionate about working together to reinvent mobility, making it smarter and more sustainable. Day after day, we are building an agile, inclusive and responsible culture, where a diverse group of people are offered opportunities to learn, grow and advance in their careers, with options across functions and geographic locations. Are you ready to join a truly international community of great people on a challenging journey with a tangible impact and purpose?

Equal opportunity statement Alstom is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive working environment where all our employees are encouraged to reach their full potential, and individual differences are valued and respected.
