Summary: The main function of an automation engineer is to apply technology to automate complex processes in order to increase productivity and efficiency within an organization. An automation engineer is typically responsible for designing, programming, simulating, and testing automated machinery and processes in order to complete precise tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and develop automation systems and software to streamline and improve operational processes.
Analyze and assess current processes for automation potential, and implement solutions for enhanced efficiency.
Create and implement detailed plans to ensure timeliness and functionality of automation projects.
Collaborate with other engineers and professionals on multi-disciplinary projects to integrate automation with electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
Develop, test, and evaluate designed systems, troubleshoot any issues, and perform routine maintenance.
Document automation processes and maintain technical reports to keep a detailed record of project specifications and design.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of and experience with automated systems and software platforms like PLC, HMI/SCADA.
Proficient programming skills relevant to automation engineering (e.G., Python, C++, or other programming languages).
Familiarity with manufacturing environments, systems integration, and process improvement techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess system performance and optimize operations.
Experience working with databases, system security, and information management.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills for reporting and process documentation.
ML/AI SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER

THE PERSON:
As a Systems Design Engineer ML/AI, you will drive balanced, scalable AI/ML validation solutions. In this high visibility position, your design and implementation will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Driving technical innovation to improve ML/AI capabilities across validation, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross- functional technical initiatives
• Designing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex problems
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of AI/ML models and making necessary improvements
• Documenting processes, models, and algorithms for future reference
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into various applications
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Proficiency in system design, development, and validation methodologies
• Deep understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.G., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Proficiency in data analysis and modeling techniques
• Ability to develop and implement AI/ML models for system validation and optimization
• Knowledge of AI/ML best practices and industry standards
• Experience with AI/ML tools and libraries
• Strong understanding of neural networks and deep learning techniques
• Ability to work with large datasets and perform data preprocessing and feature engineering
• Hands on experience designing and implementing LLM powered agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including prompt orchestration, tool calling, vector store indexing strategies, and evaluation of end to end agentic workflows
• Experience in integrating AI/ML solutions into existing systems and workflows
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details
• Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
