About the Opportunity Reporting to the Department Head of Medical Physics, the Electronics Technologist collaborates with the Mechanical Technologist, Physics Assistant, Physics Residents and Medical Physicists, Radiation Therapists and Radiation Oncologists as part of the maintenance team for NSCC radiation therapy equipment. The Technologist is responsible for electronics associated machine repair, preventative maintenance, and maintaining parts inventory. Participates in coordinating workflow, preventative maintenance schedules, and prioritization, in addition to mentorship of junior staff.
About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Grade 12 Diploma
Graduate of a post‑secondary 2‑year Electronics Engineering program required
(CET) Certified Electronic Technologist certification required
At least five (5) years of linear accelerator experience with a combination of IT or x‑ray imaging equipment maintenance
If no qualified applicants, consideration may be given to applicants with five (5) years of relevant experience, consisting of at least 1 year of linear accelerator experience and the remainder consisting of any combination of IT or x‑ray imaging equipment maintenance
If no qualified applicants, consideration may also be given to applicants with two (2) years of relevant experience in IT and/or x‑ray imaging equipment maintenance
Troubleshooting and maintaining electronic, high vacuum, high voltage, water cooling, pneumatic, computer control and imaging technology components of linear accelerator.
Understanding IT network and communications between various software and hardware components of cancer centre, radiation treatment, imaging equipment.
Understanding maintenance of x‑ray imaging equipment
Project management an asset
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
Permanent full‑time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits $37.58 – $41.48 hourly (for fully qualified candidates)
