Job description
Are you a corporate lawyer with 5 plus years of experience looking for a new home? If you are, Cleveland Doan LLP would like to talk to you. The ideal candidate will have an existing client base but with room to take on and grow the firm’s client base.

The position also offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to build on a well‑established solicitors practice with an existing client base of over 350 companies spanning over 30 years, and to work with a highly skilled corporate paralegal.

This position will involve:

Contract Drafting and Review

Corporate Reorganizations

Incorporations

Commercial Borrowing

Buying and selling of businesses

Real Property Transactions

Creating trusts and implementing other accountant driven planning

Core Requirements:

Member in good standing of the Law Society of BC

Minimum 5 years of corporate/commercial law experience

Possess a demonstrated ability to take initiative and be proactive

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision

Able to respond quickly to the demands of a commercial solicitor’s practice

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively problem solve, prioritize and multi‑task and the ability to operate within all levels of the organization

Ability to work both collaboratively with other lawyers and professionals as needed

Compensation will be on a fee‑split basis plus bonus structure. A benefits package, access to continuing legal education, and firm contribution towards professional memberships may also be applicable.
