Job Overview

The Government of Alberta is seeking an experienced Reporting Analyst to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in Power BI, analytics platforms, stakeholder communication, and data-driven decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and business stakeholders to design and deliver advanced dashboards, reporting solutions, and analytical insights that support strategic and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Design, develop, and optimize advanced Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
  
• Build scalable business intelligence and analytics platforms to support operational and executive reporting
  
• Transform complex and regulated datasets into actionable insights
  
• Develop analytical workflows, reporting frameworks, and visualization strategies
  
• Create interactive dashboards and reports for business users and leadership teams
  

Analytics & Data Insights

• Use analytical tools and methodologies to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities
  
• Build quantitative and analytical models to support decision-making
  
• Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  
• Support advanced analytics initiatives and reporting modernization efforts
  

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Facilitate meetings and collaborate with senior management, project teams, and stakeholders
  
• Gather detailed business and reporting requirements
  
• Align reporting solutions with product vision, business objectives, and user needs
  
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  

Documentation & Communication

• Prepare business requirements documentation and reporting specifications
  
• Develop clear business and technical documentation
  
• Present analytical findings and recommendations in executive-friendly formats
  
• Maintain reporting standards and governance practices

• Evaluate and apply emerging trends in:

Mandatory Qualifications

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions
  
• 5+ years of experience building business intelligence, visualization, or analytics platforms
  
• 5+ years of experience facilitating meetings and communicating with senior management and stakeholders
  
• 5+ years of experience using data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights from data
  
• 5+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and align reporting solutions with business objectives
  

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience delivering analytics strategies and commercially valuable insights to large enterprises or government organizations
