Job description

We are seeking a Senior Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead the execution and coordination of high-complexity Credit Card initiatives within our Agile Release Train (ART). As a servant leader and subject matter expert, you will facilitate the end-to-end delivery roadmap, manage cross-functional dependencies, and ensure the steady flow of value to the business. This is a high-visibility role driving strategic, multi-million dollar revenue-generating projects. You will be responsible for orchestrating PI Planning, escalating impediments, and managing complex financials while coaching Agile teams to achieve relentless improvement.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Contract Duration: 16-month contract with possibility of extension or conversion

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours/day)

Rate: $128.66-$135.8/hr

Advantages
Strategic Impact: Lead a multi-million dollar revenue-driving initiative at one of Canada’s leading banks.

High Visibility: Opportunity to network and present to senior leadership across different business lines.

Collaborative Culture: Work in a purpose-driven, forward-focused environment with a highly supportive team.

Longevity: A long-term 16-month contract with a clear path for extension or permanent conversion.

Responsibilities
ART Orchestration: Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using Kanban and other Agile information tools.

PI Facilitation: Establish and communicate Program Increment (PI) dates; facilitate PI Readiness, System Demos, PI Planning, and Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.

Roadmap & Dependency Management: Coordinate the deployment of features by meticulously managing architectural needs, order of operations, and cross-team dependencies.

Stakeholder Management: Work with enterprise-wide stakeholders to deliver on commitments and create a transparent end-to-end delivery roadmap.

Risk & Financial Oversight: Proactively manage risks and escalate impediments. Oversee feature financials and report on status, mitigations, and budget to senior leadership.

Coaching & Mentorship: Oversee, coach, and train a small group of professionals within the Agile teams to increase maturity and delivery excellence.

Value Delivery: Ensure value is delivered consistently by leading through ambiguity and applying creative problem-solving to critical bottlenecks.

Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of experience delivering high-complexity Credit Card features within Agile, cross-functional teams.

Data Migration Expertise: 5+ years of direct experience with data conversions (Credit Card data preferred).

Leadership Presence: 5+ years of experience presenting status, risks, issues, and financial health to senior executive leadership.

Financial Management: Strong skills in managing project/feature financials and budgets.

Agile Mastery: Deep understanding of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and the ability to manage the flow of value in large-scale environments.

Soft Skills: Exceptional storytelling ability—translating complex technical/Agile data into succinct updates for various levels of business stakeholders.

Education: Post-secondary education is an asset; significant relevant work experience is prioritized.

Nice-to-Have Skills
Certifications: Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or PMP.

Industry Experience: Prior experience specifically within banking or financial institutions offering credit card products.

Summary
If you are a seasoned RTE with a background in the Credit Card industry and a track record of leading complex data conversions, we encourage you to apply online at www.randstad.ca. Only qualified candidates will be contacted for the next steps. We look forward to hearing from you!
