The Trainer-HSE will support to maintain compliance with all applicable legislation relating to training and certification for all employees. The focus is on the training and development of employees including the prevention of accidents, incidents, and injuries through theory and practical training.

Responsibilities:

• Support with completion of new employee orientation / training and maintain existing employee training
• Provide theory, practical training and ongoing retraining as required
• Work with plant HSE to schedule training
• Work with plant HSE and various managers to ensure all employees are trained and certified as required
  
• Schedule training and assist to develop Marwood Training
• Coordinate Train the Trainer requirements for all Marwood trainers
• Formulate Power point presentations as required
• Schedule third party training (external)
• Conduct training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace
• Complete and maintain training records keeping as needed
• Issue Certificate of Competency for trained employees
• Maintain confidentiality where required and advise HSE Management on important issues
• Support HSE Coordinators with Training as needed
• Support HSE Coordinators for vacation coverage and support with projects as required

Key Requirements:

• University or college degree/diploma related to Occupational Health and Safety / Environmental Studies asset
• 1-3 years working in the health, safety and environmental field, preferably manufacturing environment
• JHSC levels I and 2 certification

Skills/ Capabilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork and demonstrated presentation skills
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of ergonomic principles and ability to apply principles in a wide range of work environments.
• Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, EPA, and WSIA Regulations
• Access to a vehicle to travel to all Marwood plants
• Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision
• Demonstrates effective organizational, multitasking and problem solving abilities
