Position Information Position Title Program Officer Posting Type I/O (Initiatives and Opportunities) (Temporary) - Support Staff Only End Date (if applicable) 06/07/2027 Classification Title FT Support Staff I Pay Band I Min Salary $40.39 Max Salary $46.64 Position Summary The position involves needs identification, project feasibility, determination, development, marketing, implementation and evaluation of a large and growing number of contract training programs, courses and/or other deliveries in a variety of settings to the college’s Workforce Development Department offerings. This involves post secondary and provincial, federal, First Nation or private funded training in a very wide range or areas and communities.
This includes recommendation, support and evaluation of full and/or part-time instructors for Classroom/ Independent deliveries.
The incumbent coordinates program details including but not limited to student registration and support, banner entry, grade entry, program pre-requisites, file and data management, monitoring of student progress, staff support, coordination of travel, development of schedules and marketing material and supports the Project Manager in administration and delivery of a large range of programming and contract initiatives. The incumbent provides customer service to the general public, clients, students, business and First Nation partners, teachers, and colleagues. The incumbent performs duties within broad parameters defined by general organizational policies and procedures. Special assignments support departmental or college directions. The incumbent is involved in the implementation of new initiatives for the college. The incumbent is directly involved in all aspects of the planning, organization, development, delivering, evaluation and modification of these new initiatives in conjunction with the Director and or Project Manager. - At least five years’ experience in an educational institution or other organization that focuses on customer service oriented, adult education and/or training services utilizing highly developed communication, creative problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Experience working with First Nation communities and local industry partners
- The incumbent must also have extensive project management experience that supports socio-economic trends. Self-directed and motivated, autonomous, entrepreneurial, flexible, able to set goals/objectives and pro-active in recruitment of resources, programs contacts and marketing. Proven accountability and responsibility for own actions. Strong computer technology, software, Internet and database management skills.
- Experience working with College programming
- Experience in developing or arranging curriculum for training
- High-level time management skills to meet multiple deadlines and priorities, with ability to multi-task across technological, customer-service and staff communications simultaneously. Proven ability to enforce and maintain institutional policies, procedures and guidelines.
