Mandatory Keywords: Interac, e-Transfer, API integration, Real-Time Rail (RTR), Azure, .NET/C#, CI/CD Integration Tech Lead – Interac e-Transfer Modernization 1. Project Summary / Objective Vancity is upgrading its Interac e-Transfer Send and Receive capabilities to API version 3.7 to modernize its payments platform and align with evolving Interac standards. The primary objective is to ensure the platform is ready to support Canada’s Real-Time Rail (RTR) ecosystem and enable faster, real-time payment experiences for members.
2. Key Responsibilities • Analyze current-state Interac e-Transfer implementations by reviewing existing design documents, API specifications, and end-to-end payment flows across Digital Banking, Central 1, and Temenos T24 core banking systems. • Translate high-level solution architecture into detailed low-level design (LLD) for the Azure-based integration and orchestration layer, aligned with microservices-based architecture principles. • Lead end-to-end integration design activities including service decomposition, orchestration flows, data mapping, messaging standards (ISO 20022 / ISO 8583), error handling, and interface specifications across systems. • Collaborate with Solution Architecture, Information Security, Compliance, Central 1, business stakeholders, and development teams to ensure all functional, security, and regulatory requirements are embedded in the design. • Provide technical leadership to integration development teams, guiding implementation across Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, and C# services while enforcing design standards and best practices. • Support integration testing and end-to-end validation to ensure robust, scalable, and production-ready payment flows.
3. Expected Experience / Skills • 8–10 years of experience in integration design and API development, with strong hands-on experience in both solution design and development. • At least 2 years of experience in Interac e-Transfer implementation, and leading a team of developers • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API lifecycle management, orchestration patterns, and distributed system design (in any technology stack). • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across architecture, security, compliance, business, and development teams in complex enterprise environments. • Preferred: Development experience in .NET/C#, along with hands-on exposure to Azure integration stack, including Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, and related services.
