Data Protection Services (DPS) SME – PowerProtect Data Manager

Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Protection Services (DPS) Subject Matter Expert with deep expertise in PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) to assess, optimize, and operationalize an enterprise backup and data protection environment. The successful consultant will evaluate the current data protection architecture, align configurations with vendor and industry best practices, and ensure operational readiness of the customer’s IT operations team. This role includes leading knowledge transfer activities and developing comprehensive operational runbooks to enable long-term, independent support of the solution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and optimize the existing PPDM-based backup and data protection environment
- Align architecture and configurations with vendor-recommended and industry best practices
- Enable operational readiness through hands-on guidance and knowledge transfer
- Develop clear, usable operational and support runbooks for ongoing management
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a DPS or data protection SME
- Strong hands-on expertise with PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM)
- Solid understanding of enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection architectures
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into operational documentation
- Active or eligible security clearance

The customer requires a Data Protection Services (DPS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) expertise to assess and optimize their backup environment. The engagement will focus on reviewing the existing data protection architecture, aligning configurations with Dell and industry best practices, and enabling operational readiness of the customer’s operations team. The SME will also provide targeted knowledge transfer and develop operational runbooks to enable the customer’s operations team to independently manage and support the solution.
