Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team as Project Leader. Reporting to the Manager Projects, the Project Leader will lead and administer the organization, coordination, and execution of assigned project(s) within multidiscipline project portfolios, while ensuring appropriate Project Management and Contract Management governance is followed.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate and control all project phases in alignment with Project Management governance.
- Ensure project objectives are delivered within safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets.
- Contribute to project background, scope/constructability reviews, and Business Case submissions.
- Develop and coordinate WBS/scopes, estimates, schedules, and key plans (risk, PM, gate packages, performance specs).
- Establish cost and schedule estimating/control structures; monitor performance, report variances, and drive corrective actions.
- Secure required approvals, licenses, permits, and regulatory/agency clearances.
- Coordinate design/specification clarifications and manage required changes through the approved change process.
- Lead procurement and contracting activities (specs, bid packages, tender evaluation, purchasing recommendations) and stakeholder coordination pre/post award.
Qualifications
- 4-year university degree in engineering, with preference given to electrical, instrumentation & control, computer and mechatronics.
- 6+ years of experience in project management, specifically managing project scope, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Experience managing projects of increasing complexity; multiple-contract, multiple stakeholders, and projects with schedule constraints.
- Experience preparing Business Case Summaries (BCS) and managing progression through project gates.
- Experience in a nuclear environment an asset.
- Experience with Engineering Change Control (ECC).
