Position: The Transportation Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and oversight of daily transportation operations, including route development, bus stop creation, GPS monitoring, communication with families and contractors, and data management to meet provincial funding and regulatory requirements. The Transportation Coordinator serves as a key liaison between families, schools, contractors, and the Transportation Department, and assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Transportation Manager.Duties to Commence: As soon as possible Qualifications and preferred requirements:Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Business or another related field, or equivalent professional experience is an asset. Proficiency with student transportation and fleet management systems. Experience using financial and administrative software, including RYCOR Financial Software and EASI Atrieve Invoice Entry is an asset. Strong working knowledge of Google Maps, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerSchool, Adobe, School Messenger. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptionsKnowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, including, Education Act, Traffic Safety Act, Student Transportation Regulation. Understanding of privacy legislation (POPA) and best practices related to the handling of student and family personal information. Extensive geographical knowledge of:City of St. Albert Towns of Morinville and Legal Surrounding areas within Sturgeon County Duties and Responsibilities: Support the coordination of all Division transportation services by overseeing student transportation operations and ensuring safe, efficient routing aligned with Division boundaries and school catchment eligibility. Assist with route planning and optimization throughout the school year to ensure equitable ride times and operational efficiency.Work collaboratively with transportation contractors to resolve routing issues, delays, and service concerns, and communicate impacts to affected families.Serve as the first point of contact for parents and contractors regarding transportation inquiries, service issues, and applications. Communicate effectively with families including transportation delays or cancellations in a timely and professional manner.Assist the Transportation Manager with the collection, verification, and maintenance of transportation data to support accurate databases and compliance with Alberta Education funding grant requirements.Process transportation-related forms through the Workflow system. Enter, maintain, and audit transportation fees within RYCOR to ensure accuracy.Assist with the administration of Parent-Provided Transportation contracts, including invoicing and payments through the EASI system.Communicate effectively and assume operational and supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Transportation Manager.Respond to emergency situations promptly, professionally, and in accordance with Division protocols.Monitor GPS and transportation systems to support daily operations.Review DVR footage of bus-related incidents in a timely manner and communicate findings to school administration as required.Create BusPlanner accounts for school principals to enable system notifications and access.Attend Division and community events, including the Morinville Kindergarten Expo, to support families with transportation information and requests.File and maintain all field trip transportation forms for the Division.Any other duties as assigned.
