Instructor, Early Learning and Child Care
Salary: $70,440 to $108,696 per year

Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in education or in progress is required
- Several years’ work experience in an early learning and childcare setting
- A clean vulnerable sector criminal record check prior to commencement
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
Department: Human Services
Nature and Scope of Work:
Reporting to the Dean, Health, Human Services & University Studies, this position is responsible for planning, preparation, and delivery of instruction and the evaluation of learning to adult learners in the Early Learning and Child Care programs. The position requires coordination with students, other instructors, counselors, practicum supervisors, and administration to facilitate learner success. Travel to practicum agencies across the province is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruction
- Planning and preparing for instruction
- Delivery of instruction, addressing various learning styles and needs
- Courses are delivered in the day and evening. Ability to teach in the evening is a requirement.
- Modify course content to meet evolving needs of students and the field of early childhood education. Courses will be delivered by distance in a synchronous manner using Bongo and Brightspace
- Management and supervision of student practicums
Student Evaluation and Learner Support
- Evaluate and report on student learning
- Conduct performance reviews with individual students, as necessary
- Grade and assess student work
- Work collaboratively with other departments of the College to facilitate learner success
Industry Liaison and Administrative Responsibilities
- Liaison with industry to ensure program is meeting industry needs
- Perform administrative tasks
- Assist in the recruitment and enrolment of students
- Track student attendance
- Submit interim and year-end reports, as required
- Maintain confidentiality and security of student information
- Submit enrolment information and marks in a timely manner
Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in online teaching tools
