In this role, you will
- Clean all areas of the facility, perform project cleaning, conduct general cleaning, and maintain cleaning equipment in good repair at all times.
- Dust, sweep, wash floors, vacuum carpets and upholstery, clean lockers, countertops, railings, mirrors, glazing, and windows. Clean cardio and strength equipment in the conditioning room, Cyclefit room, and free weight room. Also, clean swimming pool areas, staff offices, back-of-house areas, and the facility exterior.
- Clean washrooms, including toilets, urinals, washbasins, vanities, replenish toiletries, body soap, and remove garbage from various areas, disposing of it in the bin.
- Perform laundry-related tasks, including collecting and laundering rags, dust mops, mop heads, and other items as required.
- Ensure the safety of all participants, property, and oneself by following established Workplace Health and Safety practices and procedures.
- Provide a high standard of customer service to all participants following SAM standards and other guidelines set from time to time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

You Bring
- Cleaning experience in a commercial establishment
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers; excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule, including days, evenings and weekends
- WHIMIS training an asset
- Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, strategic outcomes and values of the YMCA
