Job descriptionAdecco is currently hiring a full-time Project Engineer to support engineering and capital project activities for our client in Sarnia, ON. This role contributes to project delivery through engineering design evaluations, coordination of project management processes, and technical support across multiple project phases. Working under direct supervision, the Project Engineer supports compliance, cost control, scheduling, and quality objectives while partnering closely with internal teams and external contractors.
Pay Rate:
$90.00 - $100.00/hour (based on experience)

Project Engineering & Execution
Perform engineering design evaluations to support safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery
Support project execution while ensuring work is completed within budget and schedule constraints
Review production, maintenance, and malfunction reports to identify issues and support resolution
Ensure engineering data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
Procurement & Planning Support
Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluations, and contractor selection
Support identification and sourcing of long-lead equipment, coordinating with FEED contractors until equipment assignment
Coordinate the development of project deliverables, including client requirements
Support smooth transitions between project phases
Coordination & Change Management
Coordinate development of the Functional Interaction Plan
Support project issue resolution and change request processes
Coordinate and endorse change authorization documentation
Serve as an interface between the Project Team and Contractors
Project Management Systems & Team Collaboration
Engage project team members and functional resources to verify design and construction alignment with project specifications and standards
Lead and support the Project Management Team (PMT) in applying project management systems and processes
Ensure assigned work scope aligns with overall Project Objectives
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline
Experience across engineering, construction, project management, and project controls activities
Broad, multi-disciplinary skill set developed through multiple project assignments
Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, and work processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational, planning, coordination, and interface management abilities
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and high workloads
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
Comfortable working under supervision and following established guidelines and procedures
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
