POSITION SUMMARY The Director, Project Controls is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing and governing the systems, processes, and analytical discipline required to plan, monitor, and forecast performance across complex transmission, substation, and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
This role is accountable for building and enforcing a standardized, integrated project controls function that provides accurate, decision‑grade visibility into cost, schedule, and risk across the Major Projects portfolio.
The position operates in direct partnership with Project Directors, Construction Leadership, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment between execution, financial performance, and contractual obligations.
CORE RESPONSINILITIES Project Controls Governance
Establish and enforce standardized project controls frameworks across all Major Projects
Implement consistent baseline management, change control, and forecasting discipline
Provide clear executive reporting on cost performance, schedule status, and delivery risk
Planning & Scheduling
Govern development and maintenance of integrated, resource‑aligned project schedules
Lead structured schedule reviews focused on critical path integrity and recovery planning
Implement schedule risk analysis and scenario modelling to manage exposure
Cost Control & Forecasting
Establish disciplined cost management practices including budget governance and commitment tracking
Ensure cost‑to‑complete forecasts are accurate, current, and reflective of execution reality
Identify and escalation emerging margin risks early
Align forecasts with change orders, claims strategy, and contractual entitlements
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Develop and maintain portfolio‑level dashboards and reporting frameworks
Lead recurring project performance reviews with Project Directors and executive leadership
Provide analysis on performance drivers, root causes, and required corrective actions
Systems & Process Development
Standardize WBS/CBS structures, data models, and reporting hierarchies
Implement scalable tools and processes to support portfolio growth
Leadership
Lead and develop a specialized Project Controls team across Scheduling and Cost Control
Build scalable capability aligned with increasing project size and complexity
Drive consistent adoption of project controls practices across project teams
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
15+ years in project controls, cost management, or planning leadership within large infrastructure or utility construction
Demonstrated experience supporting contractor‑side execution on complex EPC or capital projects
Proven capability in:
Cost forecasting and cost‑to‑complete modelling
Schedule development and critical path analysis
Integrated cost and schedule performance reporting
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, SAP, Viewpoint, Procore, or equivalent systems
Ability to operate effectively with Project Directors and senior leadership in a high‑accountability environment
POSITION CONTEXT

The role is central to improving margin control, schedule predictability, and overall project delivery performance
