Job descriptionWoodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.
Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.
Position Reporting to the WLNG CEO , the VP, Finance provides strategic financial leadership and decision support to the WLNG CEO and the leadership team. This role also ensures accurate financial planning, integrity of financial statements, and robust risk management while driving alignment across business units and supporting operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will:
Business Partnering & Performance Management
Collaborate with WLNG leadership team to translate strategies into actionable business and financial plans.
Connect the dots across BUs, monitor and regularly update the integrated business plan to drive the achievement of business objectives and strategies
Partner with the WLNG CEO to develop comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and set stretching business plans
Deliver timely financial analysis and insights to guide performance and strategic decisions.
Monitor BU performance, identify gaps in revenue, EBITDA, and costs, and recommend corrective actions.
Promote continuous improvement to optimize revenue, costs, and capital efficiency.
Work with Corporate Treasury to manage working capital and secure project funding.
Support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and M&A activities through financial analysis.
Ensure timely and accurate financial statement close processes, as well as accounting systems
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxations, and regulatory requirements
Liaise with auditors and tax advisors to maintain professional relationships
Corporate Governance & Risk Management
Drive improvements in business control processes together with BU leadership
Ensure alignment with RGE Group policies, embed robust financial risk management practices
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination
Lead and motivate finance to deliver high performance, quality and timely deliverables
Explore continuous improvements to automate financial processes, drive scalable processes standardization, and enhance efficiency.
Keep stakeholders informed on progress against key milestones.
Develop team member capabilities and support Head of Finance to build succession bench strength with clear career progression pathway.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA (CA or CMA) designation
At least 15 years of senior leadership experience in a high-growth environment
Background in manufacturing, oil & gas, or startup settings preferred
Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor finance teams
Strong attention to detail with exceptional accuracy and multitasking capability
Skilled in operating under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Demonstrated success managing diverse finance teams
Additional Requirements

As required, the position is based in Vancouver, BC, with travel to the EPC contractor’s office in Houston, Squamish (site), and others
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
