Role Descriptions 1. Fundraising & Outreach Coordinator — Community Engagement
This role supports the Program Manager in planning and executing TCMV's upcoming projects aimed at promoting civic education and engagement, with a focus on securing financial support and building donor relationships.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop project budgets
- Craft persuasive grant proposals and fundraising campaigns
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, community organizations, and institutions
- Coordinate TCMV's presence at local events to engage with potential donors
- Travel within the designated riding/electoral district to attend events and build community relationships
2. Project Coordinator — Community Engagement
This role supports the Program Manager across multiple projects, managing timelines, KPIs, and stakeholder relationships to elevate TCMV's community presence.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Program Manager to develop plans and execute projects
- Assist with volunteer recruitment to maximize TCMV's community presence
- Organize TCMV's attendance at local events (galas, dinners, festivals, etc.)
- Track metrics, monitor KPIs, create progress reports, and manage resource allocation
- Secure fundraising and grant opportunities and implement fundraising strategies
- Travel within the designated riding/electoral district to attend events
3. Educational Coordinator — Education
This role supports the Educational Team Lead in creating accessible, engaging content that promotes political literacy across the community — from social media posts to youth program materials.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Educational Team Lead to develop plans and execute projects
- Develop educational content for social media, youth programs, and other platforms
- Monitor ongoing Canadian political developments and break it down into digestible material for various age groups
- Contribute to TCMV's online Library and key content series ('What If…' and 'Let's Debunk')
- Prepare TCMV strategy for the 2026 municipal and provincial elections
- Organize TCMV's attendance at local events (hackathons, youth programs, festivals, etc.)
- Travel within the designated riding/electoral district to attend events
4. Marketing Coordinator — Marketing
This role shapes and executes TCMV's social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok and LinkedIn to grow awareness and engage target communities.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with TCMV's goals
- Curate compelling content across platforms, ensuring alignment with TCMV's mission
- Analyze performance metrics and refine campaigns accordingly
- Support online fundraising strategies and donor engagement
- Engage with the online community and manage TCMV's digital presence
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a dynamic supporter relations strategy
5. Web & UX Developer — Technology
This role supports TCMV's digital presence by maintaining and improving the organization's website and online tools, ensuring a seamless and accessible experience for users.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain TCMV's website and web-based tools using WordPress
- Apply knowledge of UX best practices and user-centred design principles to implement UI/UX improvements that enhance usability and accessibility
- Ensure the website is mobile-responsive and optimized for performance
- Use Google Analytics to monitor site performance, track user behaviour, and inform improvements
- Support CRM integration using relevant platforms to ensure tools are connected and functioning effectively
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Education teams to publish and format content
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Support the integration of third-party tools and platforms (e.g. donation forms, event pages)
6. Administrative Assistant — Executive Office
This role provides organizational and administrative support directly to the Executive Director, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the Executive Director's calendar, scheduling, and correspondence
- Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and track follow-up action items
- Organize and maintain internal files, documents, and records
- Assist with coordinating logistics for internal meetings and external events
- Support cross-departmental communication and information flow
- Handle general office administration tasks as needed
Qualifications & Requirements The following apply to all roles:
- Minimum high school education required; relevant post-secondary education is an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong understanding of Canada's political system
- Energetic with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Motivated self-starter who can take both guidance and initiative
- Works well in a team with a collaborative approach
- Must remain strictly non-partisan while representing TCMV
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
Nice to haves:
- Bilingualism (English and French preferred)
- Knowledge of local Muslim hubs, community centres, and mosques
- Pre-existing relationships with influential community figures
- Access to a vehicle
Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility All positions are funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Candidates must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Hold a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation
All team members may be required to support other departments during major events or project launches.
